Shariq is a visionary businessman who brings a wealth of experience to the table. With a background as a former Advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and a seasoned media professional, Shariq has dedicated over 15 years to working with various national and international organizations.
Having started his own media production company, Incision, in 2008, Shariq has achieved remarkable milestones. He has proven his technical prowess by being Pakistan's first and only director to have collaborated with Ridley Scott Associates on two groundbreaking projects. These include "The Great Campaign," a global initiative initiated by the UK Prime Minister's Office, and "One Last Push," a polio awareness campaign for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Shariq's diverse portfolio also includes directing commercials, documentaries, music videos, and TV shows for esteemed entities in Pakistan, positioning him as a versatile director with a full-spectrum approach. Additionally, Shariq has played a vital role in crafting communication and policy strategies for a wide range of clients, including both local and international non-profit organizations.
With a knack of delving into unchartered territories, Shariq has also played a paramount role in revamping Pakistan’s state radio channel, Radio Pakistan. Tasked with ideating a modern identity for the channel, Shariq developed a comprehensive strategy that included branding guidelines, redesigning the official website, and introducing a podcast series. His work has been commended by the President as well as various state members.
Moreover, Shariq worked extensively with the Pakistan Air Force during 2016-2019, Key interventions led by him during this period included modernizing PAF’s image especially through enhancing its visibility on digital media, bolstering influencer partnerships, and production of music videos and documentaries. His documentary on JF-17s was credited for boosting sales and resulted in him receiving a certificate of appreciation from the then-serving Air Chief Marshal, Mr. Sohail Aman NI(M).
However, Shariq's ambitions extend beyond the realm of media. Compelled by a passion for social development, he established a not-for-profit named Chromatic in 2019 to raise awareness about pressing societal issues. In partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, Shariq spearheaded Pakistan's first digital policy advocacy campaign on tobacco control, known as the Tobacco Control Alliance for Pakistan. This groundbreaking initiative serves as a model example of the power of collaboration and advocacy to promote public health, amplify collective impact, and drive widespread change. Through his contributions on this, in tandem with other projects, he has directly contributed to advancing 12 sustainable development goals, cementing his commitment to making a positive impact.
Shariq is presently working with Google, managing global projections under VMware, for several cloud-based enterprises including Jazz Business and Lambda Enterprises. He has also ventured into the real estate business and is currently overseeing the development of the biggest resort in Pakistan. Other initiatives in progress include the construction of multi-storied buildings and expanding into Dubai.
